Caravan
by Anvar Nazarov · 2026
A miniature artwork crafted on black velvet using heat-treated natural straw fibers—one of the rarest forms of Uzbek applied art, preserved by only a few master artisans. It depicts a cheerful caravan in traditional national attire (featuring green, pinkish-brown, purple, and pale yellow hues) with a loaded camel, a donkey, and hanging gourd containers. Every detail is brought to life through painstaking craftsmanship, highlighting the straw’s natural and flame-singed golden-brown tones. The artwork is presented unframed in a compact size (31x21 cm), designed to sit flush against the wall in its pure, natural form.
