Night Stroll
by Anvar Nazarov · 2026
A miniature vertical artwork created in a rare straw art technique (working with burnt straw fibers)—an extraordinary medium practiced by only a handful of masters in Uzbek applied arts. The piece depicts a traveler carefully making his way along the ancient city walls on a moonlit night, watched from a minaret by a tiny figure in a turban. Every element against the dark background—the full moon, the dome, minarets, and brick walls—is rendered with remarkable volume through golden, yellowish, and brown hues achieved by scorching natural straw fibers to varying degrees. Framed in deep brown wood with a green-and-gold mat, this miniature artwork (24x28 cm) displays all its authentic straw textures and ancient charm. It brings a touch of national fairy-tale spirit and a subtle, majestic grace to your interior.
