This fascinating work reflects the story of Alisher Navoi's epic "Lison ut-Tayr" and the most famous mystical epic in Eastern classical literature - "Sheikh San'an and the Christian Girl". In the painting, the old Sheikh San'an, who lost all his wealth, faith and reputation, and remained in the torment of divine and worldly love, a thoughtful but pleading look, the image of a young, beautiful bride (Christian girl) who appeared to him as a symbol of patience and trial, and the Hudhud (hoopoe) bird, which is considered a spiritual guide and mysterious ambassador in Sufism, are skillfully depicted. Yellowish-golden patterns in the background, artistic details in Arabic/Chigatai script taken from the text of the epic, and yellowish-brown tones give the work a deep spiritual, mysterious and legendary atmosphere. This work of the artist (under the signature "Jamal" on the copy of the painting) deeply reflects the great tragedy of love and faith, which has been living for centuries, and the complex searches of the human heart.
